Troughs Continue Dry weather Through First Half of June.. Tropical Storm Arlene....El Nino Watch Continues!
We are still caught up in a series of troughs which are bringing dry and pleasant weather throughout much of the eastern half of the country. This will continue our dry pattern. However, we will get occasional shots of rain and maybe even a coastal system in the latter half of next week. To be determined.
Also, the tropical season has begun. Our first storm of the year is tropical storm Arlene. She is currently down in the Gulf of Mexico. Basically, a tropical low at this point. Mainly, there is too much wind shear and dry air in the vicinity. This will continue to weaken Arlene. And she will be a Tropical low Northwest of Cuba by Monday.
Much of New Castle county Delaware is under an abnormally dry situation. So we need the rain. Basically, if this continues into the middle of June we will be in a drought situation. And we are still heading towards a possible El nino as the summer continues.
However it is not yet certain an El Nino will form. There is El Nino Watch currently. Most guidance suggest that by late August maybe September we will be in the beginning stages of El Nino. This would flow into the Winter.
I will have more updates in my next update.
Adios! DWG
