WHAT?
A cold front well north of us creeps down to our area by late afternoon and early evening. This will spark widespread heavy showers and thunderstorms.
The most severe threat will be gusty winds. The tornado threat is low and hail probability is low as well.
WHERE?
Anywhere within the tri-state area. Areas north and West of Wilmington, DE are at higher risk.
Yet, showers will be in most spots after 3 pm today.
WHEN?
Late this afternoon (3 pm-5 pm into tonight)
MY THOUGHTS
The storms will be heavy BUT severe weather will be limited and spread out.
IF the cloud cover stays overcast for most of the day. WE DON’ T WANT THE SUN to come out. That will only fuel the high dew points, CAPE, and other factors that are already present.
Temperatures will stay in the mid-’80s but dew points are ALREADY in the ’70s that are insanely moist.
